Hongdae Love Museum: A secret and sexy exhibition center

The Hongdae area, which was selected by foreign tourists to Korea as the most popular destination, has recently gained a rather unusual attraction. The Love Museum, a “sex museum” with the theme of love and sex, has opened for business, located directly above the already-famous Trick Eye Museum.

Those who purchase a ticket are given an interesting looking pair of paper glasses. These are useful for hiding one’s face when posing for pictures in front of erotic artwork, making the visitor feel free to strike bold poses.

The museum is made up of six themes, including the Erotic Garden, Dream House, and Life Exhibit. There is a variety of paintings and structures to be enjoyed by the visitors, including famous Western paintings, traditional erotica, and optical illusion art that uses “trick eye” techniques.

Since its opening on December 24, 2013, the Love Museum has enjoyed much popularity and a steady stream of guests. It sees over 100 visitors a day, even on weekdays.

At the ticket booth is an employee who can provide assistance in foreign languages. Also, if couples wish to have their photo taken together, a museum employee is available to assist them.
