[Autumn Travel] Visit Observatory in Seoul to see Namsan Tower & Deoksugung Palace

Autumn is the best season to travel in Korea.

As the weather is getting chillier these days, many people want to take a walk outside or do some outdoor activities. If you are one of them who wants to stay outdoor to enjoy the nice weather in Korea, here are some recommendations for you! There are two observatory deck for you to visit in Seoul. One of the observatory gives you some magnificent view of Namsan Tower, the other observatory offers you nice and special view of Deoksugung Palace. These places are more beautiful especially during autumn.

1. Observatory - Namsan Tower

Refer to the photo above, if you follow the path on the left side, you will come to two different observatory deck in Namsan.

On days with perfect weather, this is surely a good place for some landscape photos of Lotte World Tower, Gwanaksan, etc.

To get to the 2nd observatory deck, just take a walk approximately 10 minutes from the 1st observatory deck. At Namsan 2nd observatory deck, you will be able to see the Namsan Tower.

HOW TO GET TO NAMSAN OBSERVATORY DECK


- Take Airport Railroad to Seoul Station > Transfer to Seoul Subway Line 4 - Get off at Chungmuro Station > Take Exit 2 and transfer to Namsan Shuttle Bus #02 > Get off at Namsan North Side bus stop

2. Jeongdong Observatory - Deoksugung Palace


How to take a good photo of Deoksugung Palace without visiting the palace?

If you have been searching for a nice place to take a photo of the whole palace, you can come to Jeongdong Observatory that is located in Seoul City Hall Seosomun building.

Jeongdong Observatory is located in 13th floor of Seoul City Hall Seosomun building. You can take the elevator from 1st floor to get to 13th floor.

You can find Cafe Darak at Jeongdong Observatory. Come to this observatory to have an amazing view of Deoksugung palace and enjoy delicious coffee at the same time.

- Take Airport Railroad to Seoul Station > Transfer to Seoul Subway Line 1, Get off at City Hall Station > Take Exit 1.

or

- Take Airport Railroad to Hongik University Station > Transfer to Seoul Subway Line 2, Get off at City Hall Station > Take Exit 11.
